The question often comes up with newly engaged couples just starting to look for wedding invitations and stationery.
The “M” Is A Prompt.
This is the line where guests will write their names, the M begins the title. Mr. Mrs. Ms. and they proceed writing their names on the line after the M.
The M is used in a more traditional / formal style of sending out your invitations. Todays Wedding Invitation Etiquette tends to be a bit more lax than it used to be.
What Couples Are Doing.
I see about a 50/50 split on the more formal “M” wording versus a more laid back “Name(s)” approach with my modern day wedding couples.
Final Advice.
One thing you want to be sure NOT to do, is just include a line without any prompt. Many times guests will overlook this all together and won’t include their name at all anywhere on the card. So that leaves you with a rsvp for an unknown guest.
To ensure you know who each reply card comes from consider numbering to each rsvp.
